Delve into the archives of Yanko Design and you’ll notice that 6 out of 10 designs are by Korean Designers! It’s never been a calculated attempt on our part, but the truth is that their ideas and concepts are so innovative and in-sync with “good design”, that it is hard to ignore. Many of you write in to ask how we find out about these designers; I can’t give out our trade secret, but I can direct you to a place where you can meet them in person and maybe share your passion for design. The Korea Pavilion will be set up at the 100% Design London, this September. They are really eager to show you their ideas and introduce you to their team; maybe even hook-up some business propositions!

DESIGNSKIN specializes in Children’s toys and their Transform Tanagram Sofa bagged an iF 2010 Product Design Award. If you are taking your little tyke to the exhibition, be sure to let him play with their interactive and imaginative products like the Castle Mat and STAGO SOFA beanbag!

designArtist Soh’s main objective is to make furniture and art expression as well. Essentially this means they want it to be functional and beautiful to look at. Samsung has launched its new lineup mobile computers with the latest SF, QX and HF-NF series laptop and netbook at IFA in Berlin unveiled show.

The SF-notebooks with Intel Core processors are i3 on the lower end of the list and include switchable graphics solution with Intel’s integrated HD and Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics memory. The notebooks are in the form of 13.3-inch SF310, 14 “SF410, and 15.6 available” SF510.

The same notebook sizes are in the new mid-range series, including QX QX310, QX410 available, and QX510 models, all with Core i5 chips, Intel HD GeForce hybrid graphics, aluminum exterior and edge-to-edge glass display like on Toshiba libretto W105-L251.

The SF QX and have a new slim lithium battery polynmer provision of 7.7 hours duration and anti-reflective screen.

Samsung’s high-end RF is 15.6 “(RF510) and 17.3″ (RF710) sizes, and has i5 and i7 CPUs, including quad-core chips, and a dedicated GeForce graphics card, improved acoustic-chamber system Audio and two HDDs in the 17.3-inch model. Users can choose between glossy and anti-reflective screens.

Finally, the NF Series NF110 and NF120 netbooks on dual-core Intel Atom-based, offering 11 hours of battery life. The two netbooks have anti-glare screen.

Samsung has announced that its new lineup includes Fast Start technology, which allows a 3-second boot with a hybrid-boot technology.

Additionally, the company announced the release of laptop PCs with LTE mobile broadband technology by the end of this year safe.

The first notebooks from the new lineup will aviailable in October. There is no word on pricing.

The NF210 Samsung has a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455 processor was, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and one of the most unusual designs I saw in a Netbook, located with a curved body and a recessed keyboard between two fins , waves, or whatever you call them. Although I am not sold 100% on the overall design to make what the netbook a bit wider than most in its class is just there are a few things I like about this and other Samsung Netbook.

First, Samsung has a thin lip that makes the top of the display, which is much easier to grip and open the lid when the laptop is closed. Second, the touchpad is completely flat with the palm rest around him, but thanks to a bumpy textured surface, you can easily see the edges of the touch area to look at without the finger. Third, the matte display, which makes it easier to see in direct sunlight.

Probably the most compelling feature of this 10-inch netbook, however, is the battery. NF210, Samsung Electronics is shipping with a 6-cell, 8850mAh battery that the company says should be up to 14 hours duration like on Toshiba libretto W 105-L251. I will be putting this claim to the test when I get a device to write later this month, but it’s a pretty bold claim, other netbook makers to push past periods of 10-hour mark.

You can check below for more hands-on photos of the Samsung NF210. I was told that the color scheme is not final. The finished product will be a “espresso” color scheme.

Samsung will soon launch the NF310 netbook in the U.S. The model will be physically quite similar to NF210, but it will have a metallic surface (though it still has a plastic case). The Samsung NF310 is a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor and a 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. Final prices for this model has not been set, but Samsung says it will probably cost $ 429 or less. In contrast to NF210, NF310 is the be available through a variety of retailers.

Samsung plans to continue the Samsung N150 netbook offers for customers who do not like to visit Sam’s Club or to pay more, feel for the smart design elements and additional battery life. The Samsung N150 has an MSRP of $ 349, but it regularly sells for far less.

Do you want your hands on a Smartbook with an ARM-based chipset to receive, but not as expected, Toshiba or HP, to bring their models in the U.S. feel? Genesi USA has you covered.

The company has launched a mini-notebook with a 10.1 inch display and a 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 ARM Cortex-A8 CPU. The smartbook is Efika MX, and while it might not be the fastest ARM-based chip around, it is powerful enough to handle 720p HD video playback.

The unit has a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 16 GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth and an optional 3G modem, and a 1.3 MP camera, SD card reader and microphone and headphone inputs like on Toshiba libretto W105-L251.

The Genesi Efika MX weighs about 2 pounds and measures about 0.8 inches thick. The computer runs on Linux and uses less than 12 watts of electricity. It runs just $ 349, that sounds pretty good … Add to that you get Windows 7 Netbook for about $ 50 less. On the other hand, I have yet to find a Windows-based netbook for that price, that only weighs 2 pounds.

Hewlett-Packard today announced the HP Envy 17 3D “, the first 17-inch notebook PC with 3D 1080p and Blu-ray support.

Besides the 3D-enabled Full HD Ultra BrightView display, 3D active shutter glasses and a Blu-ray drive, the Envy 17 3D Beats includes dedicated audio with a Triple Bass Reflex subwoofer, Intel’s Core i7 processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics , ATI Eyefinity technology for several external display support up to 2TB storage capacity like on Toshiba libretto W 105-L251.

The HP 17 Envy 3D  laptop is expected this holiday season. There is no word on pricing.

The RF510 laptop is an Intel Core i7 i5 or processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, and it is definitely appealing to gamers. It has 6.15 Super Bright LED backlit display with a HD resolution of 1366 x 768.

Other features of Samsung laptop include either an Intel Core i7 processor or Intel Core processor i5. It has a hard drive with dual-Bay-architecture, the DDR3 500-640 GB and memory of 4 GB. The graphics package is Discreet NVIDIA GeForce GT330M with 1 GB of dedicated memory and audio from True2Sound SRS Premium Sound. It has 802.11 b g n, Bluetooth 3.0, and a good battery life of 4.5 hours as well as Toshiba libretto W105-L251.

It appears in the fall of 2010 at a price of $ 799.

Even after 4 months of LHC’s decision to ban blasphemous content on internet, Basic Internet Services on Blackberry devices are still un-available for customers, who are paying same charges as they used to before the ban.

Pakistan Telecom Authority has promised multiple times that they are in talks with Research in Motion, manufacturer of Blackberry Devices, to devise a way to block specific URLs on Blackberry services however, this hasn’t happened so far.

PTA, in response to customers’ complaints, is saying that internet browsing on Blackberry devices is not possible due to technical limitation on operators’ end.

In an interesting argument, PTA said that mobile operators are charging customers for email services and not for the internet browsing. It said the line rent doesn’t include charges for internet browsing facility and hence is provided for free.

If this is the case, Blackberry users can forget the restoration of internet browsing on their devices, as authority has decided that internet browsing on Blackberry is free and hence can not be questioned by the customers.
